Project i-Land

Postby Achintya » Sat Jun 20, 2015 6:17 am

After so many days of getting away from Planted tank, again I return this part of aqua hobby. Previous time, it was a different lay out and this time I'll make it as a island scape. For this scape, I need a lot of Anubias nana and Anubias nana petite. In future, I think I have to add Anubias barteri, Anubias coffefolia, fern or even few stem plants. It totally depends on how the scape will look like as it progresses. As this would be mainly Anubias based tank, so I'll give periodical update after months.

I am planning to start scaping on 28/06/2015 morning, hopefully I'll get all gadgets and accessories by next Saturday. Here is the list of accessories:

Tank: 30-18-18 (8 mm glass, Buro da made)
Cabinet: Wooden cabinet (CO2 cylinder and canister filter will be inside that cabinet)
CO2: Pressurized CO2 (1-1.5 bps, with solenoid)
Light: 2*36 W Pll (6500K & 8000K)
Plants: Anubias nana, Anubias nana var 'petite', Anubias nana Gold (as of now)
Hardscape material: Branch Driftwoods, ADA Horn woods, White sand, Rocks (yet to finalize which rocks)
Filtration: Eheim 2215
Flow: Addition power head for better circulation
Photo period: 6 hours
Fertilizer: mostly K from lab grade K2SO4 (as of now)

Last but not the least, I am really thankful 2 of my brothers who motivate me to come back again in planted tank and help me a lot. I dedicate this tank for them. I'll most probably share pictures by next Sunday.

There will be micro and K from K2SO4. I'll use Aquasoil, so no need to worry about N. A small amount of Phosphate is needed. But at this condition, it is not needed. For planted tank, plants themselves are the indicator that which nutrient is missing, so by checking plant condition, fertilizer can be added.

A quick update: Yesterday I received my first set of Anubias sp (25 in total). Now looking for Anubias barteri and Anubias Coffefolia, 5 each. Any info?
