yes higher lighting will benefit it and it will be more compact bush.and dont be surprised to see runners growing horizontally with HM too.higher lighting will promote that.
and i even saw some making carpet of HM succesfully.check out jfleshtanks or mrmomtanks on youtube.even our buroda did it once in 2011-2012.and ofcourse you need good trimming.

i would have gone for a 36 watts or 2x 18 watts for decent growth.if it does with 18,it will be worth-watching.

Thanks for your suggestion rahul da and sanam da:)
Got a 36 watt pll and a hob having 600l/h output.
There were many leaks in the tank as it was my first handmade tank, but fixed it somehow.
Filled the tank yesterday night, but water isn't still clear:?
Here are some pics and sorry for the crappy shot from my mob cam

its just flooded .let it throw new leaves and grow .then think about trimming.and do inject CO2 for faster transition.

Are these initial melting issues?

I haven't started dosing co2 yet. There were leaks in the bottle cap.
But now fixed it.
Need your suggestion regarding the melting issue.
