Rebooting :: Iwagumi (Update 02/09)

Postby Tirtha » Sun Oct 25, 2015 8:10 pm

Hello Friends, First of all, Shubho Bijoya to all of you and sorry for such a long silence. After taking a forced break from a hobby (Was busy raising Human Fry :p ) and from KAC for almost an year, coming back to the game slowly.

Starting with 2 planted tanks. One is 24x15x15 Iwagumi and another 36x18x18 with Woods and stems mostly.

Here I will be maintaining the journal for the Iwagumi and will be starting another journal for the other tank shortly.

Today finalized the scape. And it looks like,

This is the first time I am using Seiryu rocks for the scape.

Substrate: ADA Amazonia (2x9ltr Pack)
Light: 4x24watt T5 HO
Pressurized CO2
EI dosing

Plants: HC and Dwarf Hair Grass 'Japanese'.

Tuesday hopefully will get the plants and will start the tanks.

Nice to see you back Dada.One question do you think ADA Amazonia is still best to carpet?
Thanks

i think if there is good lighting ,CO2 and proper dosing even fine sand can do the same job as any branded sub.but when it comes to experts and professionals using commercials is the best choice because its convenient,hassle free,predictable in outcome,saves time,etc its like getting a bag and pouring it and get the tank started.

There is nothing called best. You can grow 90% of the plants on pure sand successfully. HC is a stem plant and does not need a fertile base. You can grow them on sand and rocks. But still I am using Aqua soil, cause it. Is some kind of made easy solution. It will provide nutrition for a while to the plants, less maintenance and better rooting than sand.

Last year I have created Monte Carlocarpet on pure sand with EI dosing without any hassle asRahul said, if light and co2 is good then your plants will thrive.
