Restarting after 18 years

Postby sjith » Fri Apr 03, 2015 3:09 pm

Hi All,

I am Sreejith from kerala. an electrical professional working in oil & gas energy sector.
started fishkeeping during the school time with a 2.5' dia x 2' deep pond, 2' x 1' x 1' glass tank and 1' x 1' x 1' cube glass tank.
it was in 1994 and started with angels and gold fishes and turn to molly, platty etc. because of the comparatively good life of fish and fun of breeding. (in my experience)
tried some plants also, amazon plants and three others.
used to keep those plants in a bucket with river sand and drop inside the well with a rope for few weeks and take out for planting in the pond.
this method worked out good for me for a quick initial growth in the pond.
used to rotate the fish " glass tank >>> pond >>> glass tank "
stopped everything by 1997 when I gone outside the home for studies. all these tanks are available in my home.
Now I am thinking of starting again with a good 4' x 1.5' x 1.5' or 3' x 1.5' x 1.5' glass tank with the natural plants

Hey welcome back to the hobby and Also welcome to the forum.
I am not sure if there are lfs who sell plants at ur place but u can always order online. If you are near to Kochi, there is a nice fish shop near Ernakulam East railway station. regarding fishes, there is a breeder at Kaaknaad to check out.. :)
also, you can visit Allepuza anytime to check out aquatic plants for free... :D
let me know if you need specific locations... :)
