You can buy a seed shrimp catcher
or may be DIY by using a bottle with a small pore or may be body of a ball point pen
I think, you are giving too much excess food to the shrimps,
excess food brings in lot of troubles

I have seen that they get attracted to light. You may use this info to sieve them out

May be this will give you a better idea . but its better to keep the cap on for the first bottle and cut an opening in it (big enough for seed shrimp and small enough that shrimp s dont enter ) http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=06ro5MhY_Tk

I had literally tons of seed shrimps in a large tank. I did not mind them as they kept the zero maintenance planted aquarium clean. Recently I had to introduce 3 adult Daisy's Ricefish to this tank. A week later it is hard to find the seed shrimps in the tank. I know temperatures play a part in seed shrimp proliferation, but I think the ricefish are the main reason for this dramatic decline in seed shrimps. I also read somewhere that guppies are efficient seed shrimp removers.
Maybe a solution for those who want to control these harmless ostracods :)
